Welcome to the homepage of our Literacy Fair 2011.
This event is a fun, multisensory evening dedicated to Literacy. Since
parents can sometimes feel they lack knowledge of literacy development and acquisition, it makes it difficult for them to help their children with homework. This is especially true as children get older because parents do not understand the concepts themselves or because different methods or approaches are now used compared with when they were at school. Thus, they fear they could confuse their children if they try to help them. As such, the focus of this evening will be on
providing parents with the resources and opportunities to increase their own knowledge of literacy, in the hopes that this will facilitate greater parent involvement, which in turn will foster student success.
